This corner one bedroom apartment, located in a former factory had been converted in the 70's into small lofts with high ceilings, was renovated in two stages.

Phase One consisted of opening up the two rooms to increase light and views and creating a loft space for guests accessed via a rolling library ladder. A 14' sliding door of birch plywood panels can be closed to provide privacy.

Phase Two consisted of renovating the standard issue bathroom and kitchen. Floors are cork tile, the cabinetwork is pickled maple with concrete counters the colour of green tea. A combination sideboard/cabinet peninsula conceals the kitchen and is topped with a green marble slab. These materials and palette are continued in the bathroom which features a vanity constructed of glass panels, maple drawers and a marble counter.
